About OzNepal

Bhoj Tandan is in a unique position to offer Australians the experience of a lifetime trekking in Nepal. He was born and raised in Nepal and migrated to Australia in 1996, at the age of 30.

Bhoj was born in a small village in the Terai region of Nepal in 1966. He attended local school until the age of 8 and then attended boarding school in Kathmandu. After graduating, Bhoj spent several years as a Gurkha . He then commenced his career in the tourism industry, working as a naturalist in Nepal's Chitwan National Park.

This led to Bhoj becoming a river guide on the various white water rivers of Nepal. Bhoj worked with a variety of companies, the last being Amadablam Trekking and Rafting - the local company used by the World Expeditions.

Bhoj then joined World Expeditions as a trek leader in 1991 gaining experience with Australian clients on all the major treks in Nepal – including the Annapurnas, Everest, Langtang, Helambu, the remote Dolpo region and several overland expeditions to Tibet.

During his five years at World Expeditions Bhoj received ongoing and extensive first aid and medical training specific to the issues faced with trekking in Nepal. This training was provided by Dr Jim Duff as part of World Expeditions' training programme for their guides. Bhoj has also completed regular St John's courses and updates in Australia.

In 1996 Bhoj moved to Australia and now organises and runs trips to Nepal for a range of clients, from school groups to mixed individual groups. Back in Nepal he has a large, trusted and experienced team of sherpas, porters, chefs, logistics crew and administration team, all determined to make OzNepal Trekking customers' experience an unforgettable one.

Bhoj has trekked in all regions of Nepal and made all grades of trips. His experience, unique skill set and extensive first-hand knowledge of trekking in Nepal are at your disposal in designing the trek that is right for you.
